Production
Development
Following the success of Alvin and the Chipmunks in 2009, plans for a Tom and Jerry live-action film were announced, and Tom and Jerry’s origins were traced back to a Chicago background. The film was produced by Dan Lynn, from a script written by Eric Graving.
On April 6, 2015, the plan shifted from live-action film to full-animated film and will remain “in the same vein as the source material.”
It was announced in October 2018 that Tim would direct a live-action / animated Tom and Jerry film for Story Warner Bros., which will begin filming in 2019. Animation
Animation services will be provided by Framestore, who has hired a 3D animator with a passion for 2D animation for the project.
