Ranbir Kapoor, who is gearing up to portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayana, has recently undergone a look test for his character. According to sources as reported in India Today, the actor’s look as Lord Ram will be minimalistic and lean, unlike the usual muscular and royal depiction of the deity.
Ranbir Kapoor’s look test for Ramayana
Ranbir Kapoor recently underwent a look test for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Sources reveal that there was a photo shoot with Ranbir to finalise his look as Lord Ram.
Sources add that Ranbir will not put on any extra weight or muscle for the role, as the director wants him to look natural and realistic. Ranbir’s bare-chested look, wearing golden and gem-studded ornaments, has reportedly impressed everyone who has seen the photos.
The makers are also keen on keeping the looks of Lord Ram and Sita, played by Sai Pallavi, very simple and elegant, without any heavy jewellery and costumes. The film will also feature Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
Nitesh Tiwari’s vision for Ramayana
Nitesh Tiwari, who is known for his blockbuster films like Dangal and Chhichhore, is leaving no stone unturned to make Ramayana a grand and authentic cinematic experience. He has formed a separate team to oversee the diction and dialogue aspects of the film, and has also hired a diction expert to train Ranbir for his character’s speech.
Ramayana is expected to go on floors soon and will be released in multiple languages. The film is one of the most awaited projects of Bollywood and will showcase Ranbir Kapoor in a never-seen-before avatar.
